At St James we want Children and Young People to grow in faith in Jesus, enjoy fellowship with others and have fun. We want to see this happen through prayer, Bible teaching, building relationships, putting faith in action and serving our community.
Children's work is co-ordinated by Liz Clark and Carol Edwards
Youth Worker: Anna Wheatley
We run groups for children and young people as part of our Sunday services, spending time looking at the Bible, praying together and playing games.
On Mondays, 12.30-1.30pm, we run Baby Space. Baby Space is for children under 1 and their caregivers. It’s a place for parents and caregivers to meet each other for coffee and cake, and to support each other too. Please sign up for your free place on Eventbrite.
On Wednesday afternoons after school we run Refresh, aimed at children, young people and their families on their way home from school, offering refreshments and a selection of board games outside church (or in the porch on rainy days!).
On Thursday, 10-11.3am, we have ABC, our toddler group. While Baby Space is for under 1s, ABC is for children and their caregivers from newborn up to when they start school. This a great opportunity to meet other parents and caregivers and for children to socialise. Please sign up on Eventbrite.
We also have a youth group on Friday evenings, imaginatively called Friday Night, 7.30-9pm, where we play games, enjoy tuck and spend some time chatting together about life and faith.
On the second Saturday of the month, we run Who Let the Dads Out for male caregivers and their children under 6. Please sign up on Eventbrite.
St James is committed to the Safeguarding Policies of the Church of England. The policies can be viewed on the Rochester Diocesan web-site. The PCC looks at the policies each year at its first meeting. Vanessa Nicholls has been appointed by the PCC to be the safeguarding officer and she can be contacted through the parish office or by email.
