Adventurers Plus (Years 5 and 6) meet during the 10am Family Service except on the first Sunday of the month when they join with the rest of the congregation in a Family Communion Service. Year 5 meet in the Church Hall whilst Year 6, in recognition of their lofty status as ‘top juniors’, have their own meeting space in the Meeting Room in Church House.

Our sessions are based around the Scripture Union ‘Light’ material with occasional help from various other sources in particular www.barnabasinchurches.org.uk. These resources provide a mixture of fun activities and ways of accessing Bible teaching that is relevant to the the children’s age and circumstances.

On the first Sunday of the month the different children and youth groups take turns in leading prayers and doing the Bible readings in church.

On the week before or after their turn to lead, the children and their leaders and helpers go across the road to Beulah Lodge Residential Home during the Sunday morning service. They are there for about  half an hour leading a short ‘service’ of readings, prayers and a song or two, and chatting with the residents.

Adventurers Plus leaders and helpers are a team of volunteers who are very committed to the children and enjoy helping them explore the Bible and grow in their understanding and experience of the Christian faith. Chats with parents are very welcome, too!
