The Apostles Creed

I believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth.

I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried; he descended to the dead. On the third day he rose again; he ascended into heaven, he is seated at the right hand of the Father, and he will come to judge the living and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.

Throughout the ages Christians of all churches have expressed their faith in the words of the Apostles Creed.

St James is an Anglican Church with a real concern for explaining our faith and inviting others to share it.

We regularly arrange opportunities for those new to the faith (or those who are not sure if they have a faith) to explore together with others. The next course will start fairly soon and if you would like to join in please contact the Church Office

There are also a number of groups which meet in homes across the area to support one another and provide opportunities to talk through the issues raised each week in church.

From time to time we arrange other opportunities, often on Saturday mornings.

The Church of England web-site sets out some of the basics of what it is to be a Christian in today’s world.
