Music group

The St James' Music Group have been in existence for some twenty - plus years and over that time is has changed both in membership and in style. We started with just a couple of guitars and a violin, and then this gradually grew into a small orchestra. However, as a number of this group were youngsters, they inevitably moved on, and so it changed again to be something along the lines of what we have today.

Richard Woodfield plays keyboards, Gary Waters the drums, Andrew Dawson plays bass guitar, Paul Sparkes plays bass guitar, Catherine Harper and Penny Bennett - vocals and Piers Rosslyn-Smith - guitar and vocals.

The Group leads the worship at three out of the four 10:00am services. This means meeting to set up and practice an hour beforehand on a Sunday, plus our two Friday evening practices every month, so it does take dedication and commitment - if one person is missing we feel the gap, and when someone leaves altogether it takes a while to readjust.
